Lets Play "Pick your favorite Roosie" from the Lablover Collection

This is one of the most fabulous set of Roosies I have ever seen. I had the pleasure
recently to view each coin in hand and I have to say I cannot choose a favorite. I have
narrowed it down to 4. As you peruse through the photos you will see many "WOW"
coins. Here is a link to the Lablover Roosevelt Dime Set

Try and pick a favorite. It's harder then it looks. My 4 top picks are the 47D, 54S, 58D
and 59P....

58(d) for me, but that 54(s) is quite impressive. I moved down the 47-D just a couple slots in the rankings as the scan showed a weaker strike than some of the other coins? Perhaps it is just the scan. Great color coins!

Out of the 48 coins in the set 44 of them have the coveted NGC Star. Talk about eye candy.

47 & 50 Are nice, didn't get all the way through the set.
Will update when the seach is complete.

  • I would love to see the 1954 in hand... love the "Wild Blue" look. The 1964 D has an exotic look to it as well, too bad for the gash on the reverse, still very easy on the eyes. In all... what a set!!

Thank you Nick; that's quite the compliment considering the set's you've put together.
It's hard to find a favorite, although the ones you mention would be in my list too. I would have to also add the 1950 and 1953-S. The set would not have been possible without you, Craig and Bill.

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

No worries, not a big deal. But, thanks for asking and taking the time to create the "gif's". Pretty cool!

The 63D is an incredible coin, Far better then the pics. Nicest I have ever seen. The 53S is a monster too.
Like I said, hard to pick a favorite.

OK, had a chance to finish looking through Lab's dime set.
In addition to the ones I mentioned earlier, and, 53-S....57....59.
But my favorite is the 1958-D....image

It Looks like the majority favor the 1958-D 68*. I'm torn between the 1958-D 68* and the 1954-S 67*FT. By the way
the 1954-S is (IMHO) The second finest in an FB holder behind the Dan Close (close to perfect PCGS set) 1954-S in
existance, and a close second at that.

    Nick,

I gotta agree.....that PCGS MS67FB is blue and ya just gotta love it! Then aagin, that 58D in the LL set is MAGNIFICANT - almost beyond words!

I came close to calling the 1957 as my favorite. It just needs a little more toning to finish the center of the reverse.

I settled in on the 58D as my favorite. the coin in hand is spectacular.

Hey Lablover! I wanted to compliment you on the set. I know you and the other top dog will be battling for the top spot this year and I hope you win! I am fighting the same person in the clad set!

Why don't you show this set off in public? Bring it and set up at Ron's table. Photos are great, but in hand...image

Great idea Bill, however I'd prefer my own table. So, why don't you bring your set and we'll do it together? Could the show handle that many beautiful Roosies in one place?image

Well, perhaps...we'll see. At least a table would give us a place to hang out when we're tired of walking.

Sounds like a challenge, is it to or from Rainbowroosie. I'd be more then
happy to pitch in for part of the booth cost to make this happen.

    Nick,

If we were to secure a booth (table) what would we call ourselves? We would have to have a name.

    Suggestions are welcome from all.

    Nick,
If YOU are paying, this is doable...as for this being a challenge, "I'd match my rainbowroosie set side by side with ANY set." That would let the true roosie addicts compare the coins and not the plastic.

...It ain't braggin if it is true image

Bill, I don't believe it was a challenge he meant between sets. Just would you join me (us) in a table.
I think it would be cool to have both of our sets (as well as Nick's & Craig's Roosies) available in one place for those interested in seeing stunning Roosies first hand.

Bill, I said I'd pay part of the table. 1/3 sounds more reasonable. Didn't TCS get a table for
free at one of the FUN shows for display only. Can that be done,,,say, for educational
purposes only. Because of the pre auction I'll only be at the show on Wednesday and
    Thursday.

Trouble is none of the stations here have any gas.
Depends on who's talking as to what the problem is.
