I find them overpriced but generally fairly graded with good service. I buy from them when I need cards toward a set and don't mind paying an extra 10%-20% to ensure cards are accurately graded.
Never purchased from them, but would not have a problem doing so.
As other noted, they can be a little on the high side, but I also imagine their overhead is 4-5x what a normal dealer is, so it all relates. I know they sent me a dozen or more catalogs when I was a kid and never got anything out of me....although I always wanted to order.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
I honestly don't know the history here. Could you recap or link me to a previous thread? I recently bought an older set from them. Just curious what other people's experiences have been.
I bought a card from them quite awhile ago and now I keep getting e-mails from them on specials that they are having and I have gotten to the point that I don't even check it out anymore since they are overprice on the items I like.
I bought a raw HOW No. 288 from Kit Young a few years ago. The price was $50.00 and the condition described as EX. Got it graded and it came back a PSA5. At the time it was a Pop. 1 of 3 with none higher. Sold it for $800.00.
That was the only card I ever bought from Kit Young.
If I ever saw another NonSports card I wanted, I wouldn't hesitste to buy it from Kit Young.

A bit overgraded at times, but excellent customer service, very personable, and if you call them they'll give you a very detailed and accurate description. Kit is one of the good guys overall, and that carries thru to the entire staff.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
there was a story not too long ago on the Net 54 Board that Kit Young had sold someone a bad Mickey Mantle signed ball, but they eventually made good on it
Successful dealings with Wcsportscards94558, EagleEyeKid, SamsGirl214, Volver, DwayneDrain, Oaksey25, Griffins, Cardfan07, Etc.
I've gotten a couple of cards that I felt were overgraded, and they refunded me the full price, including shipping. They'll certainly stand behind what they sell, no questions asked.

If you have something to add to the original question, please share. If not, please stay out of the thread. I was looking for serious, genuine responses. These mysterious vague responses don't help me or the other people here who are interested. You obviously have something to say. If you want to share, then please share. If you're not going to share, quit teasing it. A big thanks to the people who have positively contributed so far.
I purchased some PSA graded cards from them for my 1935 national chicle set. Now I get there newspaper mailer quite often. Since my card was a PSA, I have no first hand experience on how they grade. Based on the newspaper catalog, they are not cheap.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
If the OP wants to be angry with someone it should be me, not Steve. I never should have mentioned Steve's name in this thread, and I sure didn't do it with the hopes that an argument would start. I apologize Steve.
I consider Kit Young kind of like 707, overpriced but very reliable. Both have excellent service. 707 seems to have more graded cards (which frequently are not super strong for the grade IMO) and Kit Young has a nice supply of raw cards - which I have found accurately graded. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from either but usually in situations where I don't mind paying a little extra.

Brian26,
In the time it took you to lecture Steve unnecessarily, you could have found it by doing a simple search. Don't know if it's the only reason or just one of the reasons. Here ya go:
I simply said I was staying out of it. How that is teasing is beyond me. >>
You replied initially and said that you were staying out of it. No problem.
After that, I see two other replies on page one, one with "-------------------" as your response and the other one "quit while you're ahead." If you're going to stay out of it, then really do so. If you've got something to add, feel free to contribute as I would really appreciate your opinion. I apologize for sounding frustrated.
I never stated in my original post if I had purchased something already or was thinking of purchashing something in the future. That's irrelevant. I'm interested in other people's experiences with them on Ebay over the years.
Again, thanks for everyone who's contributed so far.

I recently bought a set from him.
Just because you did not mention that fact in your original post means what?
Seems pretty relevant to me.
Half the time around here we get drips and drabs, I figured it was a drab.

Just by replying & stating that you want to stay out of this, without giving any details, is what I meant by going on a witchhunt.
That type of response is a passive form of accusation - a position that is impossible to refute.
It would of been better to not reply at all IMHO, if you really wanted to "Stay Out Of It"
But you still posted a reply.
