I have a chance to buy 34 rolls of pre-1964 silver dimes. I don't know what kind of condition they are in, so I have to assume typical G/VG/F junk dimes.
What would you pay for these at the current spot price and at that quantity? 8x? 9x? 10x?

It's your call but 34 rolls for $1,500 would be a good deal to me.

if dealers buy silver and sell it to a smelter.. how do you expect them
to make money if they buy at spot that day?
the problem with collectors that get involved with buying is that
they do not think like a dealer.
who in their right mind would want to pay 18 dollars for a cull/ugly morgan? oh yea, collectors.... sigh ;-)

Too many people think we are a public charity.
These are often the same people who walk in, pick up a Coin World or Numismatic News, fold it up and say "These are free, right?"
What do they think you are a Hampton Inn?
