I think the purple makes the coin look funny.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

The coin is in an open flip, so COA is worthless (coin does look strange but it may be the photography).

This is one series that should only be bought in a top tier slab.

Impossible to authenticate that coin using that pic.

I bought a Half Eagle of this type that looked OK a few years ago, from a trustworthy dealer, then put it away. Recently, I sent it to NGC and it came back as "NOT GENUINE." I got a refund, so no problem. But I have some questions. How is it that so many counterfeits exist, is it easy to make them because of the unique incused design? And what does one need to look for?

It does look a little off. I'd avoid that one.
