Raynox CM-3500 macro lens kit - anyone here use it for coins?

This comes in 6X-12X-24X and I've played with them in an ANA photo class. I think they're pretty cool, but I don't know if I want to plunk down $90-$110 yet on them.

Never heard of them, is it just a screw on filter type macro? If so $90 is a lot to pay for that. If it's a true macro lens I really don't see how they could put decent glass in it for $90.

What are you using as a "macro" now?

I have heard good things about the Raynox but have not used one because I have a nice 1:1 macro.

These lenses use a universal adapter that fit on most SLR lenses.

I will have to get a set to test it out.

They are just macro filters: +6, +12, +25 with a universal adapter (52-67mm).

They will work to add mag to almost any system - beyond 1:1. Longer focal length may be more useful because of the loss of working distance.

I'd love to see what you think when you use these. Provide tons of examples!

I have been testing various add-on macro lenses recently. I think that quality will make a difference in the performance.

I will be testing really cheap ones soon to see how they stack up - found some cheap ones on Ebay.

In the general scheme of things they work better with SLR's than point and shoots.
