Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Good lord! Those two blazers in the same pack!?!?! Go buy a lottery ticket!

The Clemens has some sort of print defect on top left. The Puckett on the other hand is a 9 at worst. I studied it for a few seconds and do not see any flaws and centering is dead on.
Sorry, just to clarify, those aren't my pulls but the pulls that everyone has been posted already, collected in one neat place so we can see our chances before ripping.

Was really looking forward to the 84 Donruss but got nothing. Hope someone pulls a Mattingly so I wont be tempted to open my other pack because mine were all almost dead centered.
My 77's were pretty nice. The best card I got was the Rose and the centering is pretty close. I know it isn't very sexy, but I got a 77 Bud Harrelson that is close to perfect all around. Only flaw I can find is about 55/45 centering T/B.
My urge to rip just one more pack got me. I saved one pack of 89 Fleer baseball for my soon to be completed set run. I was not happy that I did not get the Randy Johnson "Marlboro" sign error card. I figured there had to be one in there after I pulled the Ripken. I went to pick my son up for school and decided to go ahead and rip that last pack.
Cool Marlboro. I think PSA labels that "Ad partially Obscured" or something to that effect. There is many variations and that one is the "Red Tint" one.
Here's a link to some info on the Marlboro versions-
Well that link doesnt take you directly to the thread.
The thread is titled- 1989 Fleer Randy Johnson Variations (Close-up scans) and it's on Page 8.
For some odd reason the link takes me to page 9? Hmm.
Like the guy in that thread and Gary D., I have also pulled the FF and the "Ad Completely Blacked out" Johnson in the same case. The original Marlboro was corrected alot sooner than the FF.
Please let me know if anyone wants to trade any extra 1977 OPC cards... my Boays and I are working on this raw set (1974-1982 Topps too) and need (57) more cards... we have lots of 1974-1981 Topps duplicates to trade.
1982 Kent Hrbek, 1981 topps TIm Raines (off center!) 1985 Wade Boggs, well centered the 1984 donruss were all very crisp; most impressed with those.
1981 donruss, every card horribly miscut in the pack. 1982 donruss every card smashed corners, entire pack 1983 Fleer Every card damaged (crushed border left side)
1977 OPC, all miscut or o/c and reggie jackson was the bottom card, massive wax saturation!
I am working on a raw 84 Donruss set and need the following commons: 28, 69, 78, 127, 177, 209, 219, 237, 277, 421, 429, 447, 462, 463, 472, 480, 490, 499, 502, 535, 537, 539, 550, 556, 588, 590, 614, 616, and 649.
If anyone is willing to part with any from this list PM me.
The next group rip we should do the same type of format with 1 pack for each year but we should do it with football starting with a pack from 76-86. here are the retail prices 76- $55 77- $25 78-$12 79-$11 80- $3.50 81- $14 82- $4 83- $2.50 84- $14 85- $4 86- $12
Ripped the packs last night. No big rookie cards. Here's a few highlights:
77 OPC Reggie and 78 Topps Carlton - The Reggie DOES NOT have the crease on the back, though it is pretty OC. Steve is a lock for an 8, with a decent shot at a 9.
82 Fleer Ozzie and 83 Donruss Stargell - The Ozzie is a lock for a 9 with a very good chance at a 10. The Stargell is just as nice.
84 Topps Gwynn and 85 Fleer Nolan Ryan - The Gwynn is nice except for the extra paper on the top left corner. Anyone have any experience on how PSA handles extra paper on 84 Topps ? The Ryan is about as good as it gets. The T/B centering is a shade off, but that might be my eyes. Definitely going to Newport Beach.
All in all, very enjoyable. If the Ryan gets a 10 and the Carlton gets a 9, I could end up breaking even. Will try to post more scans as long as Hannah doesn't knock out power. Thanks, lsu and thank you Steve Hart
Nice pic DoctorK. I think it is somewhat ominous that there is a "coffin bank" right below the cards. This is a sign that you must release them from their wax entombment.

Pretty good.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Great looking cards there - I really liked the following:
85 Donruss Clemens
84 Donruss Fisk
77 OPC? Jim Rice
1985 Topps Bill Swift Olympic - got a little excited for a sec
The Dawson is gorgeous aside from some wax on the front hopefully I can get it removed. Many of the 77s are going to be considered for submission.
But, 1985 Fleer from the same pack
<< <i>1981F - Ripken (RC), Rose, Carlton, Carter >>
WOAH!! You got a super-rare 1981 Fleer Ripken RC!! j/k
Seriously, I would love to see a scan of your Ripken, how's the centering? Nice pulls!

1984 Fleer - Cal Ripken Jr and Jim Plamer
<< <i>WOOHOOO!!!!
Congrats. Nice centering too. Chipping on the back top?
The Eric Davis RC looks like a 10 to me too
<< <i>1982 Topps - Rod Carew was best card, did get two stickers though >>
Yeah, I got two stickers too... I wasn't expecting those. Another pack came with player stickers too. Weird.
Edit: Card is not cut funny at bottom, scanner belt is loose, will try to rescan
BAMMM!!!

<< <i>We did that football run last year. It was fun, I'd be interested in another rip, but probably not for another month after this baseball rip. >>
Same here. I would think about another rip in about a month. I am partial to Basketball though.
77 OPC Reggie and 78 Topps Carlton - The Reggie DOES NOT have the crease on the back, though it is pretty OC. Steve is a lock for an 8, with a decent shot at a 9.

Received them yesterday and just want to enjoy them for a moment. I'll post pics once I rip 'em.
