Seems like he had to know something of the area,,,had his friend dig a a hole 5 feet from his! Then they started finding coins and keys and rings...I am sure many such places are out there...and it would pay to know some history of the area,,,looks to me that it could be where a house once stood on an old farm,,,,I need to get down and hunt mine but it so far away.
