give it time. let the dealers get fresh stock in.
this includes bigger players like apmex.

the price is not going to shoot up to 18 overnight.

Local B&Ms are selling 08 ASEs for $20, and no one is buying.

Kind of strange, no one is buying, and no one is selling at these prices.

I'll go back in a week. How long can they sit on this stuff?

I think these dealers were expecting a quick rebound. How long before dealers grow tired of siting on dead inventory? image

3.49 over spot is actually quite reasonable especially for 08s right now. MTB who is one of the mint distributors is out of product and has no idea when they will get in more. On the secondary wholesale market which is where dealers are now forced to get them, they are paying $2.5 over spot or more for generics and $3.00 or more over for 08s. When you take into account retail margin, $3.49 is actually quite cheap. Charging $18, 19 or even 20 is not unreasonable for small quantities.

back in the good old days, that was their normal premium over spot to sell.
