The 2008 MS70 silver pandas have appeared on eBay several times and there are now some for sale in eBay stores for around $200.
You might want to look at the PCGS Registry in the China Panda Silver one ounce coins category for anyone who shows MS70s and make an offer to the owner.
Based on the PCGS population reports, it seems like a big challenge to find any 70s that are not dated 2008.
I purchased a 2008 MS70 Panda off TeleTrade recently for $175. I have considered your suggestion on making offers to the owners in the registry sets but since I am in direct competition with them I hold little hope in that area.
Nice registry set. I guess I could have 2 - 100% complete sets in the 1 troy ounce gold category if I were willing to have my 1 troy ounce gold pandas slabbed.

Lets talk about your "spare" '82. >>
No spare (I wish I did). 2 sets because PCGS split the gold registry to 1982-2000 (100 Yuan denominated) and 2001-present (500 Yuan denominated).

You are correct, I read your comment as having two full (1982-2008) sets of the 1 oz pieces. Oh well, the search for a decent '82 continues.
I sent BJ an e-mail a couple of weeks ago asking her to create a new set which holds all Panda's of the same size in a set in addition to having the split sets.
For example the 1/10 oz gold has a set from 1982 - 2000 for 10 YN and 2001 - Date for the 50 YN. I asked for an additional set for all 1/10 oz gold Panda's from 1982 - Date.
If anyone else agree's an e-mail to her can't hurt.

Good luck.
It seems my only option is to make them myself.
Anyway I appreciate the suggestion.
