eBay shipping

Quick question for you guys. On July 16th I purchased a modern p.o.c. on eBay for $12.95, and after purchasing it realized that the only shipping was priority for $8.95 .... dang, my bad .... but it was my error in not noticing that. No biggie, but after two weeks it still did not appear to have shipped. I sent a message to seller asking status, at which time he must have decided to ship the package as tonight I rec'd a message stating it was being shipped USPS Priority. How should I log this in eBay? I've always had positive purchases. Is this a neutral or negative? I'm conflicted. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing the postage came out to $5.40-ish? If so, somewhat excessive there but not much.

Did he contact you at all about it or did you just get an automated email from PayPal/eBay/whomever?

A bad seller using S+H as a profit center.

AND, he collects money for "priority" when he waits TWO WEEKS
    to mail the item.

    Outrageous!!!

If you are feeling generous, a "neutral" will do. Otherwise, the red-donut
    is called for.

    Just an automated message.

Sellers sometimes make mistakes. Sometimes unforseen delays happen. Some sellers are unorganized. Some sellers work regular jobs and do EBAY as sort of a hobby. It is only 2 weeks.

This kind of stuff happens. If the item matches the description. I would view it as a successful transaction.

I would just move on and forget about the feedback.

It is hostile to leave a neg or a neutral.

  • You could leave a positive and just adjust the detailed feedback for shipping time and shipping costs to match your experience in the case you are happy with the item.

Well yes, sellers make mistakes, but did the seller offer an explanation and apology for this? If not I think the neutral would be the deserving. I have bought things recently, but then been notified that the seller had something come up, in one case a seller in Portugal notified me that his mother in England had just passed away and that he had to catch a flight to London that night, but when he got back to Portugal he would send the item in two weeks. True to his word, two weeks later he emailed me and let me know that the item had just gone to the post office and I left him a positive, because he was honest and informative - in such a case it is understandable why the item was delayed.

I prefer honest sellers, not evasive ones.

If you are happy with the item. Give Pos FB, but indicate: slow in shipping .... On the DSR .... let your feelings be known with a 3 or 2 star rating for prompt shipment.

    Yep...that and communication feedback.
Could also note that coin wasn't sent until 2 weeks after seller paid/contacted into the feedback

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
