If a dealer places a link on this message board to their website.......
which shows their inventory of coins,...... how appropriate is it for another board member to comment about a particular coin ( good or bad) in that inventory which is viewed from their link on this message board?
Just curious.

A link on this board is an invitation to look.
And this board is all about comments, knowledge, questions and opinions.

Sometimes when truely wonderful, unique and interesting pieces surface, and the comments are positive or inquisitive, I'm glad someone points them out.
I generally frown on the "look at this POS", "overgraded", "AT" ... whatever coins ... regardless of where it's listed. Not that I don't think these are sometimes worthy of educational viewing, but after a while "look at this POS" gets old. If it was on a members site I would also feel as if negative comments were made private at first.

Here are some examples of okay and not okay comments:
Not okay: Coin X on Dealer Dan's website is a pig!
Okay: I think Coin X on Dealer Dan's website is a pig!
Not okay: Dealer Dan is a scrubbed up pig!
Okay: Coin X on Dealer Dan's website is a scrubbed up pig, based on my interpretation of the photo, given the limitations of coin photography, my vision, and my personal experience.
Not okay: Coin X, on Dealer Dan's website, is a nice CAC-stickered coin.
Okay: (Anything negative about coins stickered by the CAC, people involved in the CAC, and the CAC as an entity)
That should clear things up.
