This has to be a low pop coin. Sent it in with the other FF coins - all came back MS/PR69 except this one. Don't have access to the pop charts - somebody look it up for me please.

    A true condition rarity!

Here are some labels I have that indicate that some coins out there are now a lower population than they were.

    image

But they are only low pop because they were on the low end of the bell curve, not because they were rare or cool.

Interesting, because PCGS wont grade brown copper higher than MS65.

Last I checked 1 of 2. (And those that have held both in hand say this is WAY better).

Here is an 1803 dime year rarity, NGC has graded 34 for the entire date, with 2 in F12. There are more than twice as many 1794 dollars graded as the 1803 dime. A real sleeper that would be an expensive rarity in a more popular series.

one of the two lowest graded 1859S coronet half eagles out of
about 60 graded which you could easily reduce due to resubmissions.

everytime i see this coin i think what a shame it is that most MS half
eagles have been dipped to death and retain no patina... yet are
    hundred+ years old.

take the 1859S i posted, there are some AU examples around, no MS
i think, and the AUs were all dipped to heck and back to get a grade
bump in my opinion and look lousy based on pics i see of them. The
price they sell for also reprents to me they are not very original as
they only sell for 3500-6500 dollars... an original one would
    easily
fetch 7500+ in my opinion in AU if it could hold a candle to this coin
    shown above.

thanks for sharing that coin fatman. stunning! a true representative
to me of an original D half eagle and worth every penny you spent
on it. dump every other half eagle you have but keep that one!!!

A PCGS cent in brown graded HIGHER than MS-65!

Here is an 1850 large cent in PCGS MS-66BN pop 6, none graded higher. It has some nice red peeking through. Lovely coin!
