Here is a 1918/7-D Buffalo I picked up for my collection. It is in an old ANACS slab.

I agree with 40, but whizzed, I don't see any signs.

    Nice coin IMO.
  • I'm thinking 40...maybe even a 45 if there is a significant amount of luster remaining...

BTW...thank you for the generous giveaway...image
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

AU 50 for ANACS. Whizzed, no. A bath, most certainly but not a problem.

Beauty of a coin. One of my favorite errors of all time. I only have a VG10 from PCGS.

    Congrats on the pickup!

Another vote for XF here. There seems to possibly be a significant amount of luster in-hand.

Not very experienced in grading, but using my handy Redbook I'd say XF-45 image

Looks very cool, I've always loved this variety, congrats!!!!!!!! image

    I would guess XF-45 details.

I'll say XF Details net VF30 Cleaned. Still a beautiful coin, I have a 1935 DDR with similar detail (and a similar cleaning), it's one of my favorite coins.

ANACS graded it VF-20, but I think it is a solid XF.

  • That's a nice coin @ vf money. Nice pickup. I would have guessed XF. I think maybe the LIBERTY is what held this coin back( A little incomplete). I think it would upgrade if you resubmitted it, but since it's for your collection, I don't really see the need. This brings up a good point. If that coin is in an AU holder everybody thinks the coin is a dog. If the coin is in an XF holder the coin is average. The coin in the current holder is a great coin and when someone looks at it they will instantly think the coin is superb for the grade. In no instance is the coin any different, however most including myself think less of a coin if it is over graded or at least properly graded. By the way Great Coin!
