I don't think I've ever met anyone who's my age (27) who's lawfully collecting social security.

<< <i>On page 93 of the August 2008 issue of The Numismatist there's a reminder to keep your eyeglass prescriptions up-to-date >>
I've been forced to wear glasses since 1st grade... tried contacts, but could never get used to that feeling of something in my eye. Lasik always intrigued me, but I didn't want to be told 19 years down the road that the procedure was the cause of me losing my eyesight either.
I'm still on the frisky side of 40, and I've had glasses since I was 7 (and contacts since 13), but I knew I was in trouble when I couldn't count the steps on a nickel with my lenses in. At my last eye appointment I was advised to begin wearing reading glasses in addition to my contact lenses. There's a sweet spot about eight inches from my face where things are in focus, everything else is a blur.
