Latte, ANA, and a pocket piece

So I am back east in New Jersey this morning. As usual, I get up early and go get a latte down the street before reading my email and checking the message boards. As I am waiting for my latte, a man comes in wearing a shirt with a witty saying on it. Very much like the shirts that "Budda" wears during the ANA summer seminar in Colorado Springs each year. I struck up a conversation with the man about his shirt. Then I notice that the shirt is from some place in Colorado. I told him about "Budda" and the conference in Colorado Springs each year, never mentioning coins. During our small talk, he goes to pay for his coffee and pulls out a handful of change. And what do I see...but a well worn pocket piece. A Morgan dollar non the less.

Weird.

That is a pretty odd coincidence - that you began the conversation because of the ANA Summer Seminar, and the guy would have a Morgan pocket piece. I would think only a very tiny percentage of people would be carrying one.

Will stop to say hello at Baltimore if it appears you haven't had your fill of monkeys. image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
