Oldtimer here - new to forum!

Hi y'all
My name is Jerry and I am 71 yrs old. Started collecting in the 40's and turned dealer in 1954. Been in the biz over 50 years and know many of the major dealers having dealt with them on FACTS teletype as A50 for many years buying and selling. I do have an immpecible record for honesty and fairness. We have a website listed in our profile but it will not post here because it contains (in my last name) a banned word. We buy and sell on a daily basis plus we have a slabbing company that we started in 1999 and opened to the public in 2008. Some say that might be a conflict of interest but for those that know me personally absolutely know different. Are we perfect in grading...ABSOUTELY NOT. Are the major slabbers PERFECT.....ABSOLUTELY NOT. We have all seen undergraded and overgraded coins. The old saying still stands....buy the coin, not the slab.
I will be posting here off and on when time permits. I'm in Michigan and do a lot of golfing in the summer. Wintertime I spend more time at the keyboard.
Talk to you all later.

A big thank you for the reminder. Our webmaster was supposed to remove that 2-3 months ago. It is gone. We do allow returns if not satisfied.
Also, as I figure out how to use the board I will post some slab pictures. They can be veiwed on our website with an ACGS search.
Again, thanks for the heads up.

Wow! The stories you could tell Jerry. With your experience I'm sure your threads will have weight.

I had a hard time navigating your homepage due to the lack of a classic menu at the top of each page. I'm sure that if you did add such a menu people would have it easier navigating your page. Just thought I'd come with some constructive criticism.
Welcome to the jungle.
You might get some nastiness due to your 'self slabbing', but I hope you stick around and give us your insight and expertise of over 50 years in the business.
That's quite an accomplishment!!

Hi Robb......
I'd rather be honest and up front than to sneak around the corner, run a slabbing site......then sneak back around the corner and deal in the slabs.
Question: Do you think the people that run all the major slab companies are in reality plumbers, diesel truck mechanics and morticians? Do you think none of them buy/sell coins they are slabbing?? Do you think none of them are coin dealers?? I personally know many many dealers involved, at high levels, in the slabbing business. Is that unethical??
Like I said, I'd rather be up front with it .... and, run with my long standing record of honesty and integrity .... than to sneak around the corner with the slabbing company.
Just my personal thoughts.

Hi Polarbeer.........
Thank you for the idea. I will get my crew working on that and update the pages in the next few days with a top menu.
Again, thank you!

Hi lcoopie......
Yes!
jerryb
I want to personally thank you all for the warm welcome. I also like the criticism and pointers. No one is perfect and sometimes needs a little boot in the pants.
Dealers and collectors that have dealt with me in the past know what I stand for. Honesty and being open. That's what my whole life is all about.
I could fill pages and pages full of stories where I was instrumental in stopping HUGE Credit Card fraud rings, making one of the first reports on the counterfiet PCGS slabs at a Detroit Coin Show 15-20 years ago, and more.
I love coins, collecting, dealing and the dealers and collectors I have met throughout the years. Wouldn't change my life 1 bit.
Peace to all!!!!
