As I understand the Numismatic News story
linque
the bill in Congress would authoize one 11-year, 56-coin National Park/Hostoric Site quarter series, and allow the Secretary of the Treasury to approve a SECOND 11-year, 56-coin National Park/Historic Site series after that!!!!

I'm thinking that Congress and the US Mint is going the route of the US Postal Service.
There will be so many collectibles issued that folks are simply going to lose interest!
Imagine, somewhere down the line, signing up for a "Coin of the Month" mailing from the US Mint!
The name is LEE!

The term "swamp" is no longer politically correct. You must use the term "wet lands" which means the same thing.

Why don't they give BEP something to do by having National Parks $2 (or $1) notes instead of coins. They should be able to get a better execution of a National Park design on the back of a $2 bill than on a quarter. Might even encourage circulation of the $2 bill, or at least mass marketing of rare, colorized versions, complete with a Dolly Parton sticker on the Smoky Montain bill.

*FIVE* ounce silver medals.
Okay. Go ahead and make a bazillion quarter designs. Whatever.
If I we have to have that to get the silver chunk, then so be it. Too bad we can't have one without the other.

It happened in sports card collecting
It happened with Star Trek action figures
It happened with porcelain collector plates
Now, it's in danger of happening in coin collecting...
OVERPRODUCTION (TOO MANY PRODUCTS TO COLLECT)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more quarters for me, thank you.
But I thought they were already doing that.
