so this thread originally started out as a way to pimp my new Butler registry. I haven't updated it in a long flippin' time, so instead of showing off the gazillion new slabs I've acquired since the last update, I thought I'd change to a regular ol' "check out what cool new thing I just picked up" thread.
Several weeks ago I picked up this practice jersey from '95. Did some checking around for legitimacy and got some fantastic input from board member Scott/hhmag70.
Then I picked up an Indians-era ('84-'85) game-used bat. I'm going to try to get it autographed this weekend.
and today's mail brought this Topps Vault proof from 1986's Jumbo set. In the auction, it was described thusly:
1986 Topps Baseball Jumbo 4 Color Film Positive. Brett Butler. Direct from the legendary Topps Vault, this auction features an original 4-color film positive for this 1986 card set. Color separation film positives are used in the set's printing process. This auction features the red tone positive. Four different colors: red, blue, black and yellow are used in this process. Although this lot is B&W in color, it produced the YELLOW tones in the final card image.
Great collection. I'm still looking for a 83 Fleer Brett Butler psa 10. The card has a pop 3, but the last one I saw on ebay was 2+ years ago. It went for $50. Hey this is my 200th post.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
