I am collecting all of the SR autos (except for the Tiger for obvious reasons)...That jordan would be COOOL if it was the signed one. If anyone gets any autos for the SR they want to move, give me first shot!
I haven't ripped any new product in a long time but I broke down and did a couple boxes. I really enjoyed myself and I hit some good stuff including a Chipper Jones auto and a Kobe mini #7/8. I want to put together a set of the mini retired players cards so if you have any you want to sell let me know. Anyone know how many there are?? Someone have a checklist??
It is beginning to look like UD is pulling the same crap as they did with the 2007 goudey. I have a sneaky suspicion that they dont have all the frickin autos again?!
Why else do you suppose all the same autos show up in SPURTS? You would think if they had ALL of the autos in the checklist, that you would see a more random selection of ALL of them, instead of 20 of the same card showing at a time?
Seems like a scam and possible class action suit, if they do not have all the autos and are "RANDOMLY" inserting all of them in cases???
Short-printed autographs from Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Gordie Howe and Tiger Woods highlight the ‘Sport Royalty’ lineup
North Las Vegas, NV (August 1, 2008) – Once again Upper Deck has pulled out all the stops to ensure that this year’s Goudey Baseball release is the best trading card collection of its kind. I opened one box and really like the Sport Royalty cards. Kind of confusing all the different variations, but I think I might just go after the black back ones since I pulled a Nicklaus and Utley black back. I have a Strug regular SR and Mike Schmidt and Dan O'Brien mini to trade if (as well as any other base/SP regular sized cards) anybody is opening and not doing the SR portion.
Who needs the Hamilton? I have one that I can let go of.
I opened over a box of this stuff and I like it. I would be interested in trading for any Sport Royalty cards of the Olympians and non-major sports people. If anyone is interested I have some of the mini parallel cards that I don't want. I have:
Johan Santana #13/88 Carl Crawford #36/88 Joe Morgan # 27/88
I also have these mini Sport Royalty:
Rulon Gardner (blue back) Rulon Gardner (red back) Kevin Durant (blue back) Kevin Durant (red back) Michael Johnson (red) Bo Jackson (blue) Stan Musial (red) Reggie Jackson (red) Tom Brady (red)
These other minis:
Jeremy Guthrie (red) Billy Wagner (blue) Paul Konerko (blue)
HPC-18 Magic Johnson HPC-27 Roger Staubach (x2) HPC-23 Patrick Roy
And these full size cards:
David Ortiz Jersey Card Justin Verlander Jersey Card Chase Utley Jersey Card
US Presidents: Rutherford B Hayes John Adams Andrew Johnson
Game cards: 252 Alex Rodriguez 256 David Ortiz 263 Jose Reyes
"WITH GORILLA GONE, WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR MAN?" Daniel Quinn, Ishmael
Does anyone know the odds of pulling a buy back? Out of 4 boxes I bought last year I pulled 2.
I agree with fattymacs. I like these a heck of a lot better than A&G this year. I don't usually buy upper deck, but these are nice. I've made exceptions for spectrum and goudey with UD.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Taking a break from A&G (Local card shop didnt have any) I picked up a box of Goudey and I think im going to go after the set. Here are the minis I pulled. What is the difference between red and blue backs? The president card is kinda strange how its numbered. EDIT: I also pulled some crappy relic card and John Maine auto, but did pull my first ever F***dome rookie!
Is it just me or does it look like Ryan Howard has the crazy in his eyes and is about to go medieval on someone with that bat? Of course he is hitting .236 currently, so chances are pretty good the victim will survive.

I just picked up a blaster of these today to try them out. What are the difference in the minis? I got 3 red back and one blue back. Are the blue backs harder to pull or about the same as the red backs? Where can I find the odds? Thanks!

I am sharing my Perez Goudey's and the variations I have found to date. Are there any other variations out there? I have been relying on what pops up on Ebay to figure out all different cards made and have not seen any other color back variations but you can never be sure.
Five different mini parallel's should be it. I'm working on the 60 mini card set of retired player's not including the sport royalty. If anybody has some for sale let me know.
i like em, im like you guys, they didnt have any ginter so i bought some of these to see what they looked like, i like the looks alot better than last year,i got a papelbon auto i think, they are much better looking than their first try
