    Like your wife, I am a Philippine expat. I am sure she remembers the "New Society" during the Marcos Martial Law years. Here's the largest Philippine gold coin (about 2 inches across and a shade under 2 troy ounces of gold) from the Macoy era:

    Here's my submission, been happily married 12 years now. No catalogue bride, collect only. Oh and some coins. As you can see I'd don't collect Phil coins.
