Is this 1921-D a VAM-1B-2?

Does this coin have a weak enough "e" in we to be considered a VAM-1B-2 instead of just VAM-1B, or does the "e" have to be completely missing?

I see what you mean about it being a "tweener", but my first reaction was that it is weak enough to be a 1B2. Neat coin, and thanks for sharing!

Doesn't quite look as weak as the one in Rob's 1921-D book, but since die fills fade in and out, it's a tough call. Bottom line is if it would be accepted by VAM collectors as that die fill, and I would vote "aye."

It looks like the same die fill as the VAM 1B2, but the fill, she's a clearin' up. I think it would probably be valued more than a "normal" VAM 1B, but less than the VAM 1B2 with completely missing letter. Earlier today, this variety was one that I cited that is collectible by die progression, since many die states and two different die fills are known.
