Craigs List find? Ok, now here's the skinny...

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 24,946 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have only once before even looked at Craigs List. Well, I was bored to heck on Monday night and
pulled it up to see if I could find a electric golf cart or coins. No golf cart but did find a seller whose
ad said: 17 silver quarters, 16 dimes (three mercury's) and two nickels. 4.5 ounces of silver and
all for $100. No dealing and no BS. Don't waste my time with offers. Nickels are dated 1886 and
1906. Various dates on the silver. Call: XXX-XXXX.
So, what the heck, probably sold already but worth a shot. Talked to Ron and he's delivering to
my office tomorrow. Can't wait to see that nickel. Will let you all know tomorrow evening this time.

about four months ago I found an ad for silver walker half's and Morgan dollars 5 bucks for the walkers and 13 bucks for the Morgans.

The seller responded that she would be at a local quiktrip store from 10 am until they all sold. I got there at 10:15 thinking no one else

emailed her..The buyer who was leaving as I pulled up bought them all...image

Once I thought about it I figured they were probably her ex's or stolen image

Good luck!!!!!! I have purchased 2 pre-1900 fire safes from Graigs list with great success

just make sure you don't get clubbed in the head. I would play this safe and meet in the lobby of your office. And don't forget the stolen coin angle.

Alas, it was not meant to be. Seller did not show and when called he said he'd sold them to someone else.
I guess that saying "I'll sell them to you, Bob" doesn't mean crap with this A$$. Anyway, no pics but here's the
link to his sale: Craig's List link

Either he was full of it, or someone got to him first. Too bad.

I think he was sincere when he said that he sold them. He said it was easier that driving
across town to deliver. (I had offered him $10 to deliver).

    couple year old thread

recently a man got shot in front of wife and kid near Seattle

they had a $1000 ring for sale on craig's list

buyers got it for free - just a bullet

a few months back near Minneapolis, a car seller on Craigs list
    wanted $4000 cash for a $10K car
they didn't have the car, but got the cash

  • I talked in a previous post about how much I enjoy Craigslist finds but this is certainly the biggest downside for me. I have arranged all the details for a deal many times and the person never showed up. I agree, there are lots of people out there who dont care about making an agreement.

I just chalk it up to one of the hassles of dealing with Craigslist.
