Thanks, man. I bought it from a collector on another message board. It's a card that just doesn't come up all that often, so I couldn't resist, even though I long ago sold my modest E90-1 collection. If I still had them, I'd very likely be working toward the set. I guess I can't rule it out in the future, but I'd have to find a Jackson that has fantastic registration, which is almost impossible. And even then, it'd have to be a 1 or 1.5 to approach the realm of financial possibility.

i agree that the registration on the Jackson means a lot......looking at a red mustache is weird....

those chicago lawyers who are trying to prove shoeless is innocent have a boat load of Jackson's i heard
  • Some new Additions+.....

it would be cool if somehow there could be a HYBRID REGISTRY that enabled all TPG's to be registered ---

i have cracked over MANY SGC to PSA but at this point i have stopped cracking...i figure i can still collect 100% of this set and cross the rest to PSA all at once when the time comes...

Those are some nice cards! image

    Scott:

That's funny about our Keelers...mine doesn't have any erased markings, although I agree it does appear that it could. I just checked it with my 10x loupe, and the white "cloud" in the upper left looks like it's just some scuffing related to the creases in that area.

    Steve:

Congratulations on the Walsh pickup! image I remember seeing it when it was offered. Problem was, that wasn't until a couple of hours after you bought it image I guess it's like Steve McCroskey in Airplane!...Looks like I picked the wrong day to do something else with my life imageimage I'm still kicking myself for missing out on it! image

Guys thanks for sharing your sets. I've got a bunch of T-206 and T-207's . It really looks like a cool set to collect. I'm so tempted to start this set , but I'm in real deep with the sets presently collecting for my 5 sons . Its the old "He who chases 2 rabbits gets neither ". If I started collecting this set , I could see me going crazy and forgetting my boy's sets.

Great looking cards.---- Maybe I'll jump in next year----- Sonny

Man, the more I look at this thread, the more I'm tempted to break my own "No more sets!" edict. (Or more like "No more set attempts!" since I've only finished two or three, and those were small vintage hockey sets.) The Jackson is such a barrier, but I love the look and scope of the E90-1s, as well as the fact that there are degrees of difficulty within the set.

Just two cards into my will-I-won't-I effort, though, and I'm already at a crossroads. Have a chance to land a D359 Bender but I'd have to give up the Speaker to do so. If I do pull the trigger on that deal, I'll let you know, SD Steve, and the Walsh would probably end up with you.

    Hi all, cool thread.

This is my lone E90-1. I'm going to be listing a few of my cards this weekend
and this card will likely be in the bunch. I bought this a few years ago. Any ideas
about what I could expect to get for this via the eBay route? Thanks....

  • Tough to say what it will bring....

a grade of "5" is VERY high for this issue....it may be the highest graded! nice

    That is a nice card!

FYI, there have been a total of 30 G. Davis E90-1 cards graded with SGC and only 4 have received a 60 grade...with none higher.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that card sell for somewhere around $1K, IMO.

Thanks for the comments & info, guys.

I picked up the Davis a few yrs ago when it showed up in a search -- just liked the pose,
the colors, and the fact that he's a decent HOFer from the era. I'm selling off some cards
to buy a house, and I may need to reconsider selling this one due to rarity.

It's a great set, and I enjoy checking in here to see new scans.

Total breach of board ethics here, but I'm thinking of selling my Speaker and Walsh. I'll probably list them on another board's B/S/T in the very near future, but if anybody here is interested, please drop me a line.

Just picked up a Cobb on ebay image :

I'm down to four HOFers (Keeler (portrait-red), Joss (pitching), Speaker and Wagner (throwing)) still needed.

    Steve
  • wow, i think Steve Soloway is selling his near complete set (minus 1 card) for $120,000....

it says his near complete set is missing a COMMON but i think the card he is missing is one of the most rare....
