1991 DS PSA 9 Chipper, what is a good price?
Any idea what this should go for? I have a PSA 9 CHIPPER JONES on ebay right now. Centering is dead 50/50. No idea how it didn't get a 10. I have people flooding my inbox with offers to end early. I have offers between $450 and $550. I don't follow this card much but I thought $400-450 might be a good price.
Any thought on where this should end? I'm thinking about taking the $550 as I think its a good price but am I selling myself short?
Thanks, Mike

<< <i>Let it ride. Whenever I get multiple emails from people asking me to end something early the hammer price is invariably far greater than I initially expected. Nobody ever offers to buy the card for more than their maximum bid. >>
Not necessarily true. There are many times that I will buy an item directly and pay more for what I think it will go for in auction, because of the underlying volatility of risk in an auction. Sometimes I buy a pop 1 Mike Schmidt PSA 10 on Ebay and pay $20.70. Sometimes I buy a pop 1 Mike Schmidt PSA 10 on Ebay and pay over $100.
Given that I generally like getting the Schmidt upgrades I need, I am very comfortable paying larger prices to pay direct than waiting for an auction to ride out. There have been times, particularly with player collectors, that as a seller, the offers I received exceeded the final price in the auction. It does not happen every time. But it is a distinct possibility.
