Come on stevek, nam did lots of research and spent lots of time searching the board to create that list. You should do the same. image

but I wish 1. Vintage wax packs have a PSA 10 hall of famer in each pack was true.

Clearly Nam tries to impress and imitate his idol Lee...but Lee is much more clever than Nam.

Although giving credit where credit is due, there were some good zingers in that list.

The saddest part of stevek's dreary existence is the fact that with all the well deserved negativity that he has received in multiple threads recently, not one CU member has stepped in and said enough is enough already, or that he really isn't such a bad guy. That, to me, is a very deafening silence.

My "existence" is great and things are going quite well for me - no complaints. I come here to have fun, talk some smack, discuss cards, and discuss other topics whenever I feel like it. This forum is a nice escape for me from the "real world" and I'm going to continue to be active here.

It's obvious from your derogatory posts that you condone name calling and violence...Sorry but I'm not going to be a part of that.

My advice to you Nam...get some psychiatric help.

<< stevek would be hard pressed to find a dozen CU members that would avoid him with their car if they saw him crossing the street. >>

The above is Nam's comment in another thread.

Nasty stuff even for an internet forum. Sorry Nam, I'm not going to be a part of your comments towards violence.

    Get some psychiatric help.

Wow. You guys really carry this way to far. It's one thing to take jabs at each other in every post on the board, but another to start posts just to take pot shots. I think both of you are intelligent people but both sides of this gets very old. How many threads have you guys hijacked lately just to get into a pi$$ing match? As intelligent as both of you are I think you could add much more to this board by way of your knowledge of cards and less of your knowledge of each other. Joe

Edit to add: When new posters see this kind of behavior, they feel its alright to do it themselves. Is it really the example you want everyone to follow? JMO.

That is an excellent point - I agree with ya...I didn't look at it from that perspective of a new poster analyzing the overall content of the forum. I wouldn't want this forum to turn into net54 in which there seems to be silly conflict there in way too many threads.

I like this board way too much to want to mess it up in any way. Whenever I'm stressed at work or at home, this forum is great for some good sports talk, card talk, and I even enjoy the coin forum and the metal detecting threads. This is the finest collectables forum out there in my opinion, and one of the best forums of any venue that I've seen.

"Most" not all, and it's weasels not scumbags, although if they digress into scamming then yes they would be a scumbag.

An example of an honest, forthright baseball card dealer is WinPitcher. What he did recently for his mailman in assisting him with the grading and selling of his valuable cards was exemplary, outstanding - I wish all card dealers were like that, but unfortunately in my opinion most aren't.

Now that the smoke is clearing I will sift through the rubble and say Nick is a great guy as well as Steve. Hopefully you guys can work it out eventually.

For what its worth though I think the "regulars" know where you stand with Wax rips and internet Poker Steve, there is no need to add anything more to new threads at this point. Just my 2 cents.
  • grote15grote15 Posts: 29,858 ✭✭✭✭✭
Agree with perk. I enjoy Nick's posts as well, as I am also a 72 set collector and a fan of busting packs. I've pulled many great cards from unopened 70s packs over the years, so the gems are out there, though it's also true that even larger dealers sometimes buy subpar product from otherwise reputable sources. I've opened my share of packs that look mint to the eye only to find that the gum has leached through the pack and ruined half the cards because the pack wasn't properly stored. SteveK does come across strong at times, but it's also interesting to get varying viewpoints from different perspectives, even annoying ones. image Just my 2 cents.
