When they do I'll deal with it. 99.9% of all buyers are not going to do anything. The vast majority of my buyers now are repeat customers so they know what to expect regardless of my feedback. The sellers crying the most about are the ones whose inferior CS skills were hidden because buyer were scared to leave correct feedback. Now those sellers will have the truth revealed the ones who deliver and have good CS skills will only have to deal with the occasional idiot.
Being scared of it is not going to change anything.. Adjust or die.
i just want to say this in addition to my other post. i am not quick to give a neg i atleast give you a shot to make it right.. well there was another sit. that i got my self into.. i was surfing ebay and found this thing selling chances to win money and it said you were to recieve envelopes, and a specail free gift..lol i swear if its not pete rose im buying im wrong.. anyway i asked the seller questions about where the free gift was and where my envelopes? well long story short there was non.. i guess the chances of winning and what you won was up to here so like there was no drawing or whatever. so i guess that i on a dollar of my $6 dollars.lol still no communication... but she gave me a negative feed back since i asked too many questions.and said i was a bad ebayer.. even after that i gave her neutral feed back.. anyway i filed with payapl for a refund. i won because she would not respond... so its almost a month later and she files a no item paid thing on me...lol.wow.. so i went ahead to cma to file with ebay and let them know what was going down. what a mess in response to her claim i told her i was willing to drop it when i got the neg feedback.. press on with life.. i wish i could post the auction.. but if you care to look at item its #140229084327 check out her feedback. im a dumb ass i should be banned for even thinking of that purchase.. don
So whatever it is you pay her; whether it's $1.25 or 1.00 on some of her past auctions, she's going to give you back like 25 cents to your paypal account. Like a partial refund. Have to admit; that's pretty damn funny. What is it with people when they see money, or the potential of? Do they honestly think they're going to get 100 X back? dumbass.

Some idiots don't want to be dealt with, they want to hold the seller hostage with feedback, you sell enough it will happen.

I left my first neg in 2 years and while not happy to do so I do know that in the old system this seller would have neged me back for sure. I dont think the new system is perfect but I thinks its a step in the right direction.
I also sell and I am not to worried about it. I already offered a 7 day full refund if you were not happy with what you purchased (both for graded and raw cards) and feel I provide fair shipping rates and will answer any question. To me the new system will just seperate the weak sellers (poor packaging, overcharged postage, bad photos, misleading listings, bad cs, etc) from the good sellers.
I think that this is just symptomatic of the fact that Ebay never has figured out what their customers really want, which is pretty amazing considering how much input they get from their boards.
To start with, they've never figured out how to deal with retaliatory negs and/or underserved negs. As a buyer I want to be able to leave a justified neg without getting relatiated against. As a seller, I don't want to receive unjustified negs from unrealistic buyers. This points to the real problem, which is that since Ebay does not review negative feedback, there is no way to separate the justified negs from unjustified ones. All Ebay needs to do to address this problem is to start reviewing ALL NEGATIVE FEEDBACK before allowing it to be posted. Would this cost them some $$$ to do? Yes. But it would probably pay for itself through reduced use of other areas of customer service and increased buying/selling acitivity from more confident customers.
Also, I think that Ebay has never understood that the field needs to be tilted somewhat in favor of sellers because not only do they generate most of Ebay's actual income, but they also have much more at stake in a transaction than a buyer does. If you are running a business on Ebay, it's much more harmful to your reputation to receive a neg as a seller than as a buyer.
As a part-time seller (probably 50-100 items over the last 12 months), the new system places way too much risk on my shoulders. All I need is one buyer to leave an unjustified neg, and with the new rules I am screwed since that would knock my monthly feedback below 95%. Given that I've spent nine years building up my feedback, that's neither a risk I want to take, or a hassle I want to deal with, especially since it is so easy for unscrupulous buyers to register on Ebay.
What Ebay needs to do is to give sellers better tools for controlling who they do business with (just like a bricks & mortar store has the right to refuse service from anyone). The easiest and simplest solution would be to allow sellers to cancel bids from anybody for any reason, both during and after an auction. That way, sellers would be able to refuse to do business with anybody that smelled fishy to them. If Ebay doesn't want to go that far, at least give sellers better tools for screening bidders, such as by allowing them to set minimum feedback requirements, or to disqualify bidders who have a track record of leaving unjustified negs.
Given how Ebay has tilted the playing field against sellers, right now I'm much better off consigning items to auctions houses. Not only do they charge less (generally 0-2% these days), but they have to deal with the buyers, not you, which makes it a much less stressful experience for the seller.
I find it ironic that ebay is basically demanding sellers to a certain level of customer service when their customer service is the absolute worst.
That is very true indeed. These dashboard ratings are also a joke...especially the one that rates you for shipping charges...anything over a dollar to ship is too much for some buyers, though they expect priority mail in return. The rating has no relevance to reality whatsoever.
