Hey, tell me what you think of my first Multi-Holder.

keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
I like the idea of the Multi-Holder and the options it presents to a collector like me who tends to like things off the beaten path. I've toyed with different groups I could get holdered together and finally gave in to the temptation and sent these lovely BiCentennial Medals issued by the U.S. Mint from 1973-1976. Some might laugh at the notion of paying more for the slabbing than the contents are worth but I think the medals are just great(they also celebrate Greatness). The result has sold me on the Multi-Holder concept and I'm already planning on my next group.

So, has anyone else ever gotten anything done like this?? Oh, yeah, what do you think about these medals and am I crazy??image

If you like it, then that is really all that matters.
I've seen, over the years, that you are a collector first....so, do things that appeal to you for YOUR enjoyment.

I have done some multi-holders (self slab) myself, for gifts. I wish I had boughten more as I can't get them anymore image
To put coins together, for display, that you really like together....it's awesome!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Excellent Keets... for display purposes, the investment is worth it... as a collector, one wishes to display their possessions in the most attractive manner possible. Looks great.... Cheers, RickO

    Hey, I like it.
    Nice way to present them.
Don't think I've ever seen theses medals before.
I really enjoyed all of the bicentennial hoopla. It was fun.

these medals actually came to me in the "Mini-Hoard" back in January of 2007 for about $10 each, and i've since picked up examples of each in the original boxes of issue.

  • Very nice...I like the multi-holders for some interesting combinations as well as sets. I've been really thinking about sending in a few sets with this in mind

Very beautiful set Keets. My first was Wisconsin lower, higher, leaf with regular Wisconsin statehood quarter multi holder MS 66. Sorry no pics but you get the idea. That's my only one. Oh I did have another one the 2006 w 2006 p reverse and 2006 proof. NGC 70's I sold it though, I like the single slabs.

    Again Keetsimage

I think 3 should be on top and 2 centered between them on the bottom. Then a label below that.
    I am a fan of multi-holders though I don't own any.
  • I have never seen those medals and I don't think you are crazy for having a display like that put together......very attractive and I think you made a good choice image

Ken.. I like your "Thundering Herd"... very cool. Perhaps the addition of the gold Buff and Fractionals would make a stunning multi-holder. Cheers, RickO
  • Nice.
I've always liked the multi-holders. Would think more people would use these.

SUper way6 to display similarly themed its! I like it alot.

May I ask what it cost to have it slabbed? I too have a few interesting groups I would like to assemble in this way.

THnaks for sharing.....would love to see what others have slabbed in these Multi-coin holders

This is one of the first questions I had when I joined PCGS. I never heard back from them. Personally I think that the ones shown in this thread have great appeal. I've had a custom holder made by Capital plastics (Civil War Types) and also bought one of their CC Morgan dollar holders. This is good for displaying raw coins which Ricko endorses, but for those of us who need TPG support, NCG seems to have something going. DO YOU HEAR THIS, PCGS?
