Just for Fun - Lame or cool (coin from the recent past)

I never really got a good idea if people thought this coin was kinda cool or kinda lame?

What do you think?

The 3d effect is cool. The subject matter for a coin is pretty lame in my opinion.

If it was a perfect coin it would have to be graded a 70!!! image

The lames are winning! I think the coin itself is kinda cool, but agree that the subject matter is peculiar for I coin. I understand why they did it, but still cant quite get past a hobbit ring on the reverse.

    Well...it's kinda different.

Not lame, but not my cup o' tea either.
  • Being an NCLT Modern Collector, I think this coin is about as cool as it gets.
But I could see many people on here thinking it is just NCLT CRAP.

Well, that may be a bit strong. I dont think that the coin ranks number 1 in lameness for all modern coins ever produced. That pos 50cent bald eagle commem comes to mind.

Cool coin. Not my area of interest but if I were into the Lord of the Rings I would go out of my way to buy one.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Lame. I'd rather get a "one ring" replica that comes with a chain to wear around the neck ala Frodo. At least that could be worn on Halloween. A person could go as any of the characters, or an evil side variant that has seized the ring of power.

The queen doesnt look too good. They should have prettied her up like our mint did for SBA.
