My 1st CBH purchase

etexmikeetexmike Posts: 6,852 ✭✭✭
I bought this coin from Dick Osburn at the TNA show in Ft. Worth. I had to wait for images from Mr. Goodman to do the coin justice before I could post it. Dick simply had a little sticker on the coin that said "WOW". I guess I agreed. I made several trips around the floor and kept coming back to take a look at this coin and bought it as I was leaving the show.

My first bustie and I just wanted to share.

    Outstanding Bust!

O.K. I'm going to start calling certain coins "Poster Coins" and this is one.
First you need a primo look like your CBH and then you need a photo to do it justice, again like yours.

    Congrats Mike!!

Per Dick's Website: "Wow! Extremely flashy gold luster with lots of prooflike flash. A beautiful halo of blue album tone surrounds both obverse and reverse. No notable marks or other distractions. Awesome eye appeal!" 1822 MS62

That beautiful Bustie sure seems under graded
to me. You could tell me it is a MS-63 PQ and I
would buy it in a flash. Well done indeed. A wonderful
pick up. The color is just magnificent. Just the way
original non messed with coins should look like.
Apparently the coin was stored and taken care of, with
the loving hands of true collectors.

Mike, EXCELLENT pickup!!! image It's easy to see why that coin kept dragging you back to look at it... and eventually purchase it. Congrats!

Well Wise Old Bear that was a great little selection of CBH's that you picked up in the Goldberg Auction. Very very nice and congrats to you sir. image

I think this coin is going to stay with me for awhile.

Wow, indeed! I tip my had to Mr. Goodman for his imaging prowess.

I took another stab at imaging last night with my copy stand and an older Canon digital and Otts. Dunno if it is white balance or what but I generally am unable to capture color unless I hold the darn coin in my hand!

I am fairly certain that CBH addiction is incurable. If you fear that your will power is not strong enough to keep your purchases in check, just PM me and I will help you rid yourself of the 1822! Time is of the essence! image
  • Wow, great pick up on a great coin.

On a side note, I have never visited Osburns site before. Wow what a selection. To bad he doesn't have pictures or he wouldn't have much left. I know for a fact you wouldn't have gotten that coin at a show as it wouldn't have lasted long enough to get there.

Not to take anything away from your first CBH, but for educational purposes...... why do you think it graded 62? Just going by the image I have an idea but since you have it in person I'm curious.
