I don't wast too much time cleaning clad coins...they spend just fine.

If you DO get older coins...Then that is another thing. DON'T clean untill you know what you have.
    NO RUBBING--NO BRUSHING

I did learn one thing.... be more careful digging them out. I put a pretty serious gash in the quarter on the right.... glad it wasn't something real special.

Some people use a rock tumbler to clean those clad coins. I just run water on them to see what the date is , then spend them like others have said.

I was hitting alot of coins when I first started. As you use your detector you should get used to pinpointing the location without damaging the coin. If your detector has a pinpointer bury a coin in the ground and do a few field test. After doing so , you should be able to determine where your center location is on your coil.

Don't waste time cleaning clad... other than a water rinse. Silver can be soaked in mineral oil or olive oil... then rinsed in warm water... no rubbing. Cheers, RickO
