"This box could hold one or more reverse of 2007 error coins! Obviously I cannot guarantee that since the box remains sealed, but I can tell you for a fact I have found 2 out of 3 in a recent mint box of 3 coins! Maybe the winning bidder will get lucky as well?!"
Just like a box of chocolate you never know what you're gonna get.
Hey if people didn't like to gamble there would be no lottery. What are the odds of winning that? If you don't win, you are left with a worthless scrap of paper, if there are no rev 2007's in there at least you have 3 2008 ase's.
when i buy a Whitman Sampler i generally know exactly what i'm getting, so the GumpTheory doesn't really hold true. this seller has just moved up from GSA Fever Sealed Box Phenomenon and used a shill to locate the biggest available fool.
You guys like Old movies - you know - "Classics"? I do.
I like a lot of old shows & sit-coms, the kind we grew up watching.
Shows like Bonanza (recall the 60s & how it was sponsored by Chevrolet?),
The FBI (with Effram Zimmblast Jr) - on Sunday evenings as well and hosted (Oh BTW, by FORD)
Shows like The Andy Griffith Show in which everyone BUT Andy was THE Star.
Oh, "The Lawrence Welk Show" with The Lennon Sisters, all the different singers & dancers - old-timers loved it!
But, beyond these are the old Movies I am referring to, Movies with the likes of Bogart, Sinatra, Jimmy Stewart, Marlon Brando, John Wayne - oh & my all time Favorite - Mr. James Cagney - the ultimate champion tough guy, small in stature but a Giant among men, with a BIG heart - tougher than nails?
Watch these old movies cast many years ago back in the 30s -30s-40s and note how they often say "OK, Bud - so what's your angle?" This is what all this Hype reminds me of. "Angles"
So, The Mint has had several angles, particularly since the advent of the new presses in which the new Directir at the time, Henrietta Fore, I believe, proudly proclaimed, much to the dismay of error collectors everywhere, that with these new presses the Day of Errors were to be NO MORE.
Right out the blocks there came a storm of "Mules" - remember those?
I suppose my point is, if we step back & look at the 98-99-2000 WIDE "AM' cent (Proof Reverses) If we look at the $5 & $10 Gold 1999 Eagles (struck from unfinished Proof dies) The Sacagawea "Mules" - etc. Every now & then The US Mint seems to come up with some new angle to keep collectors hunting for a piece of the action - to generate or rekindle collectors' interests.
Just a few points to ponder & consider.... no more - no less. Take it for what it's worth or not at all.

There are nuts inside a Cracker Jack Box? I never ate that crap, I wanted the prize. Maybe I'm nuts for thinking I could find a 08 ase 07 reverse in there.

Considering that there could potentially be 3 of the "HOT" coins in the box with a current estimated minimum value of $500 each "as is" the guy sold possibly $1500 worth of stuff for a hair over $200 or in other words too cheap. It would have been prodent to open the box instead of giving it away.

Many feel that the products out of the mint in this issue now are the recycled returns. In other words the odds of this group of coins actually containg the 07 reverse are about the same as winning the Mega Millions or other lottery. Once the bid amount went over the silver value it's just betting on the flop.
I disagree. Every time there is a zero feedback bidder I don't assume shill. I get 0 feedback bidders on my sales and I know for sure they're not shills.
My guess is the seller decided there was a low probability that the contents would have the 07 reverse and thought he would do better here. For example:
3 coins, 08 reverse worth $30, 07 reverse worht $300. Assume 10% chance of 07 reverse then a fair value would have been 3 x 30 plux 3 x .10 x (300-30) = $171. Given the 10% assumption, it sold about right and the seller made a good choice.

REALLY! This is so pitifully transparent. I can't believe potential buyers can be stupid enough to
actually believe this LOS.
Everyone here is reporting that the well has run dry.
I bought "several" boxes of 20 and did not find ONE 07 Reverse.
CW is lying through their teeth.
... and with a guarantee like this :
This box is guaranteed to be unopened...
...it's like a box of Cracker Jacks without the peanuts..

On the other hand it could be unopened, containing 3 varieties, maybe he or she is taking a shot, and letting the market decide.
I myself would have to examine the contents, couldn't stand not knowing.
Regardless he or she still makes a profit.

The "NUTS" are on the outside of the Cracker Jack box in my scenario
I had a hidden meaning there.
