Went back to the park where I found the 51 silver quarter a week or so ago, the waters gone down another foot or so revealing more of the winter/spring erosion. Dug alot of sinkers (popular fishing area) and was expecting to dig another (or maybe a bottle cap) when a another dark quarter popped out of the hole (well actually had to use my vibraprobe to find it in the muck)- was expecting a clad and then saw:
1st coin of the day and it was my 3rd silver of the year!-and another big one at that. Walked the cut away bank the entire length and only found a few modern coins and then found this piece of jewelry?
It lay right on top of the gravel shoreline just below the banks edge. Its Shaped like the letter "A" with some fake diamonds- not quite a pin- it has a slip through slot on back?
And then for the first time I got chased out of the park...no not by cops, park ranger or a dog, but by black flies! I had rounded the point of the shoreline and the wind died down, next thing I knew I was swarmed by the things, black flies, nats or whatever, they were flying in my mouth, nose and landing everywhere. I gave up and headed back to the car. I was able to drop the detector down just short of my suv on one last small spot of the shoreline and found a couple of solid targets ( I couldn't give up to a bunch of flies that easy- besides I was back in the wind). Thats were I dug the wheat (a 46) and the Canadian 1936!
I think this my 3rd or 4th one from this park (King George V type).
Group shot of the whole lot and the 42 Washie cleaned up:
