Yes, I agree that the "Contact Us" page isn't clearly defined within the menu on the left-hand side. Oops. yep it is there. and then I wish there was a "Help" section. Darn it. That's there too. Well, maybe, just maybe if there was an area under "Help" that specifically mentioned shipping charges.... Well, I guess that's strike three.
I'm not exactly sure how much more you feel a website needs to fulfill your every want and need. They can't put everything on the home page in bold with your name on it. THey don't have their inventory on the front page, but the OP certainly seemed to find it ok.

Tom Caldwell like to sell coins. He'll negotiate more than most to make a deal work. I got a really nice 59 O Seated $ in PC 3 a number of years ago. I'm with Robert (RYK) on this matter.
"Vou invadir o Nordeste, "Seu cabra da peste, "Sou Mangueira......."
FYI, it's nearly 36% off from $39=>$25. Additionally I enjoyed my encounters with NEN. I was met kindly at their table even though I was buying nothing; they were happy to chat for a bit.
PS: Using NGCCOINS.com to take someone to their webpage is a brilliant idea. They're running a business and that helps generate hits to their businesses website.

....39 with an opportunity to negotiate. I offered $29 and they countered with $35...
Think.
If they had a coin at retail-----$39. And they wanted to sell it at $29 and make enough to say in business, they'd have to have bought it at $20-24. How long do you think they would be able to replenish their inventory by buying $39 coins for less than 60% ?
Not to long is my guess.
I bought an early half eagle from these lads years ago and the SERVICE was A-1.
I've bought from and sold to them with consistant positive results. I was able to answer your question with one click on their website. Much ado about nothing, IMO.
<< <i>And for what it's worth I think you were being a chiseler. You bid -25% on a CHEAP coin and expect some sort of negotiation? >>
The OP isn't being a chiseler at all. NEN put a "make an offer" on a $39 coin so they're obviously okay with receiving offers for it. Just because it's a cheap coin to you SG, doesn't mean it isn't special to someone else. Your attitude is shameful and then you go on to call the OP names. You're a real class act. >>
OWEEE. Don't pick on me.
If "chiseler" or "little girl" is name calling what is it when I call you a Sally-boy for being one?
I will say this about Northeast: they're one of the few dealers with whom I do a two-way business. I think this is evidence of both the breadth of their business and the ease with which our transactions have gone.
I have bought several coins from northeast numismatics and always been pleased. Their photos are better than most dealers, they ship promptly and the shipping costs are very reasonable.
This happened to me about two years ago, which means the exact details are lost in my brain haze and I must apologize in advance. But the gist of it is:
They had an expensive certified foreign coin on eBay, and got no takers. The opening bid was something like $1,750. After the auction I think I offered $1,600. They countered back at slightly more than the opening bid.
I was so offended that I didn't even try to buy anything from them again until two months ago.

Perhaps they simply made a typo? Did you contact them about it or were you satisfied with being offended?

Tom:
I suppose that's a legitimate and genuine possibility, but for right or wrong I almost always take the approach with large coin dealers that they are trained and experienced professionals who know exactly what they're doing at all times, "so don't try to tell me what I should or shouldn't do!"
At least that's what I've heard from several of them over the years. Surely they're telling the truth?

Like all those Superior auctions and their $1 BINs?
Ive bought from NEN no problems. I stopped by their table first at Central States and they paid me very fair. Not the first time I sold to them. They are always willing to make an offer when others blow you off. I like dem guys.

Here, since it is too difficult for you to follow a link:
Domestic Shipping Charges:
$4 for orders under $100
$6 for orders $100-$299
$8 for orders $300-$799
$12 for orders over $800
Get it? You'll pay $39.00. But your invoice would have told you that.
