Looney ebay buyer - check it out

this guy wins two auctions off of me (luna66)

first he emails me this ...

Dear swartz1,

I am having problems with my paypal account, is there an address i can send payment to? sorry for the delay..its out of my hands, have to wait till paypal gets their act together...thanx..mario luna..luna66

then he emails after I file a dispute to get my money back he sent a check (in the dispute thread) which is an obvious lie...

then after waiting approx another three weeks (and three emails he doesnt respond to) I neg him...

of course he negs right back right away - I send a final email and he sends this...

Dear swartz1,

I LOST OUT, i made a money order to you and it got lost. I am the one who should be nagging. So you won , you gave me a negative , you couldn't let it go could you. Guys like you make a big deal about everything, go sell your little cards to someone else already, leave me alone on this issue, people are losing jobs, gas is going up, soldiers are getting killed and your bothering me about 2 little pieces of cardboard already, bye and i won't deal with you again, block my bids on your auctions too. A real nag u are.

One quick question - if I am granted the FVF will the negs go away?

  • Nope, you are stuck with the negs. The only way to remove them is if you and the bidder decide to do a mutual feedback withdrawal, or if you contact the third party mediator and pay $20(I think).

There is NEVER a vote in leaving a NEG for a NPB.

In a few weeks, that won't be an option.

meaning that you automatically do it ...

or you wouldnt do it at all because of retaliation?

    I would NEVER do it.

The dirtbags have already shafted me once, by not paying.
Why would I want to give them an invite to shaft me again
by leaving me an unwarranted NEG?

The point will be moot, in May; when there will be NOTHING
we can say to SCUM except "thank you."

I went to block the subject buyer, AND found that he was
already on my caca list. I have no idea why.

The new BBLs will hold 5000 names, instead of 1000.
Sellers will need the extra room.

What's the point of Feedback if people are not willing to let others know of a bad ebayer.

swartz1, I thank you for taking the hit on this and letting everyone know what a crappy buyer this guy is!

There is NO point to buyer-FB.

swartz takes a hit, and the beat goes on. The bad buyer is not hurt at all.
    ONLY swartz suffers.

I just negged a 0 feedback loser that stuck me with a 199.00 sale.

I emailed him 3 times, did the ebay NPB thing 2x. All to no avail.

I bet this mutt replies to my neg though........I don't care.

I think he cannot NEG you, IF he failed to respond to the NPB.

This is good natured advice: It is probably not smart to gather
ourselves any extra NEGs between now and May 17. We are
ALL going to need to go into that time period with as clean a
    slate as possible.

The gates of heck are likely about to open up on us ALL.

I guess that is my question ...Will the neg go away, if I get the fees back?

Not if the buyer responds to your NPB.

Respond means ANY entry on the form made by the buyer.
He can say, "OHMY," and THAT will count as a "response."

A win by a seller/buyer on an NPB does not X-out a NEG.
Non-response is the key to killing the NEG.

In my case my buyer can still reply to the NPB, He is not getting the card now under any circumstances
as I did the 2nd offer thingy.

    I still don't care.

I was in a give a guy a neg mood.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • A buyer can still leave a neg even if he does not respond to the UPI, the feedback does not count either way though, but the comment does show.

I just realized that since this is the case, I will probably take on a renewed interest in purchasing "case fresh" (un)opened wax from our friend Gary. After all, he still sells on ebay. I would imagine his feedback % will fall further than most...
  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
The buyer can not leave a neg if he does not respond to the NPB. He can ONLY leave a comment.

In my case the buyer still has time to reply to the NPB (he had 8 days)

He now has 2 negs BTW.

Though it happens rarely, there are some circumstances when members can lose Feedback privileges. When a buyer fails to respond to an Unpaid Item notification and the seller issues an Unpaid Item strike against them, the buyer can still leave a Feedback comment, but the Feedback rating they leave for the transaction will not appear and will not count toward the seller’s Feedback Score.

An eBay administrative note will appear under the Feedback comment on the Feedback Profile page, explaining that the member did not participate in the Unpaid Item process

    ........Will not appear......
