Thinking of Mailing Derek Jeter a Baseball, Sharpie and a SAS Box ...

I'm thinking of mailing Derek Jeter an official MLB Baseball, Sharpie, a Self-Addressed Stamped Box and requesting his autograph. Should I go ahead and do it? Or am I essentially throwing away, well, the aforementioned. Does anyone have any experience with Jeter? Thanks.

  • Your throwing it away. Not sure if he has whoever does his mail return to sender. Why would you want him to sign with a sharpie? Always get balls signed with blue bic ballpoint pen.

I got him by mail...as a rookie. Not sure if he signs anymore, but I would say no. Look at what Steiner is paying him, he doesn't need to sign for free.

But, if your willing to lose a ball, it's worth a shot.

    Don't bother.

But if you decide to do it...send a blue ballpoint instead of a sharpie.

  • I doubt he'd sign, but if you were gonna send it, it's the wrong time of year I think. Spring training ususally has some successes for current players, and the off season isn't bad if you've got home adddresses. But like everyone's said, t's likely gonna be a waste of time/money. Try and get to a game and get it in person.

I'd say this is a far reach , but if you're willing to lose a baseball and a pen , why not, ya get nothing if you try nothing , maybe ya get him on a slow day , just kickin around the house in his shorts with nothing to do .

I would not send the sharpie either though .

Put something interesting/funny in the box. Make it stand out. Any experiment is worth a few bucks - what the heck?
