picked this up from JJ teaparty sight unseen a couple days ago and am extremely pleased with the coin. The scratch on liberty's neck is amplified by the light source and not a big deal under normal conditions. The toning is superb. Coin exceeded my expectations for not having seen it before buying considering the scarcity of the date/grade.
I actually got a 2 and two 5 nickel wooden nickels from the 36 celebration in Columbia, SC. I also got a 25 cent WWII military script. Its not in gem but fills a spot.
I am just throwing cheese to the rats chewing on the chains of my sanity!

I finally after 25 hours of reviewing the persons 'hoard' got this as my 'time' invested in her investment.
I actually wanted all the halves that she has- those I have to make an offer on. and there is an 1849 1$ that is in vf condition that I will make an offer to her on- a FAIR offer I might add.
Last Barber Quarter needed to complete the collection. Its in a PCGS AU 55 holder:
This coin has a wonderful cameo-circulated effect, and when you tilt the coin the lustre goes from bluish-grey to golden-grey. Aside from the "Adams' Apple" hit at the throat the minor circulation lines are unobtrusive. Locating an AU 55 for my set - which has an average of 58 - has been not too easy. Every so often an AU 50 pops-up, but their look just wouldn't fit into my set too well. Glad I waited - and if another eventually shows up which I like better I can always sell off this coin. However, for the time being this will be the last major addition to the quarter collection.

There appears to be a minor die crack on the reverse.
Terrible, "quick & dirty" lighting. A hand-held utility light.
My most recent purchase. One of my favorites too!
A nice Type B Reverse!
