I have not studied his sig enough to be able to tell for sure , But if Jimmy authenticated it , it's as good as gold and I wouldn't worry about it .

If you need to worry about it , you can run it passed Mark Jordan over at Heritage , he is really good at sigs like yours .

Also you can shoot it passed Tom Catal in Cooperstown , Safe @ Home collectibles .

Other than PSA or JSA those are the only other guys I trust .

You need opinions from some gentlemen with some time under their belt so to speak .

As far as I am concerned Tom And Mark are the top of the pile along with PSA and JSA, but when you send it to them , you don't know who is doing the authenticating < Shrug >

Looks good to me but as I said I have never really put much time into studying that sig . . .

Best of luck with that awesome autograph !
  • I appreciate the help, I trust Spence's opinion but there are so many fakes out there and this auto is the darkest I've seen in a long time. I may ask Steve Grad to see what he thinks about it. I'm sure its authentic but you never know. I would like to see what ironmanfan says about the higher resolution scans.

Not sure how it would help but here it is:

If JSA had the opportunity to inspect this in person (particularly under magnification) & passed it, that's good enough for me.

Richard Simon is pretty darn good at authentication and with him being in NYC all these years I'm sure he's seen his share of Munson autos, both real and not. You might send him a scan and ask his opinion, he's a fair and honest guy.

So is your Sig Line... image.

Glad you joined, nice colection. image

  • Richard simon is very good and I definatley value his opinion. I have asked him to give me a quick opinion on 3 different Munson autos over the past 2 years and he believed all 3 were not authentic. so I passed on all of them. He does charge a small fee for his service but its well worth it if it saves you money and aggrevation in the long run .
