These finds were pulled from a couple of Mission/Rancho era sites in California.
The first photo is pistol/musket balls. I also found a lead pokerchip, but forgot to photo it.
Next is flat buttons.
The third and fourth photos is a perfect Phoenix button with perfect standup shank.
The next is a 1/2 reale that is badly worn, you can make out a little edge lettering just to know it's a reale, but no date unfortunately.
The last 4 photos are of my best find of the hunts. It's a spectacular religious medal made of solid silver with the older sidways type clasp, crudely drilled hole and hand filed marks all around. It's slightly larger and thicker than a half dollar. I've found copper ones of similar contruction, but this is the first I've ever found or heard of being found made of silver.
drilled clasp
hand filed edge
Thanks Tom, had a great time.
