A&G sucks.

for that set has a Pacman Champion card in it. Once anyone could get past that, and still go after the set, is beyond me. Collecting a complete set, especially a set that has like a billion cards in it, including a Pacman champion card, is for very gullible people.

I salivated for the 'Bubble Champ' card from (i think) 76 Topps.... I actually thought there was a dude named Bubble Champ, from what I saw on the checklist. That was the last card I ever needed back then. Never got it till 20 years later, and learned my double lesson.

how's come no one has completed an A&G set yet (2008).

ahhh yes... it's the ole 'suck me in to either re-live real A&G collecting days or make me buy cases cuz I want to be a cool card collector and say I'm in to.... "ahh yes.. got me many of the A&G cards from the past.......... wait.. i mean I collected 2008 versions, and my cards are as cool as the folks on this board that actually have legit A&G cards, cuz I can't be as cool a collector as the actual cool people here that have actual A&G cards so I spend hundreds to get my PacMan Champ card".. trick..

Dave, unfortunately this case wasn't eligible.

The price was $825 delivered so yes they are less expensive now. I saw another case from a different seller for around the same $.

I think the industry just like the economy is taking a big hit in general. My local guy has the most back stock I have ever seen. Buyers market is all I can say. Good luck with the case rip and please post your great pulls.

Actually I wouldn't mind opening some more 2006 Ginter. The great thing about Ginter is that everything pales in comparison as far
as value, so you are less inclined to buy other junk. Ginter is just plain fun to open. Im hoping to get my Ryan Howard redemption
auto back very soon.

I guess the real question is....more ginter or try heritage update?

08 Ginter does seem to keep getting a little cheaper. I picked up a box for a little over $70 del. I see the J Edgar Hoover 1/1 cut auto is one ebay. Still haven't seen any new 1/1 relics get pulled. Besides the Abe hair, Wooly Mamooth and Reagen, I haven't seen any other's on ebay. I guess always a chance that people pulled some of the other's but are keeping them for the PC.....

Ok experts, I have a really tough rip/don't rip question. I pulled an Ichiro 2/10 rip-card. Using the flashlight trick I am fairly certain it contains a Ty Cobb Mini #398. Does anyone have an idea of an approximate value of the unripped card?

I'd guess that card is worth about $200-250 sealed.

I'm editing this to say I don't even think it matters that you know what is in it. Ichiro is highly collectible and this card being limited to just 10 copies is enough to maintain it's value so long as the card stays sealed.

I agree. You should keep that card sealed. Hopefully next year Topps will finally learn how to conceal the mini rip cards. My suggestion is to place them in aluminum foil -- similar to a gum wrapper.

On a side note, I opened my 2006 Ginter box. I did get a one of one which was a Benjamin Harrison printing plate, the 23rd President of the United States.

Now as to the details of this card

Soon after I posted it in this thread from my retail case break, Pat Neshek contacted me and wanted to trade for or buy it. It took quite a while for us to work out the final deal as all of his cards were in Minnesota and he was rehabbing in Florida. We are now complete though and he was very good to deal with , seems like a nice guy.

Here's what I got: about 20 AG cards I needed originally
an 8X10 Auto glossy of him, not shown here as it has a couple dings.

There was another of the states card which I gave to my daughter. The guy has a great sig.

Pat has a great looking graph. He is a big collector and trades on his site. Pretty sure he breaks quite a few different products. Blowout cards keeps dropping box prices. I got weekend special email from them and I believe they had 08 A&G down to $62 box delivered.
