I want to thank everyone for all the nice comments since I pulled the cut auto, or KG3 as Lee has dubbed it. Being in the heritage and A&G trading trenches every year with the same great guys made pulling it a blast for me because I had all of you to share it with. It's not a cure for cancer or anything people other than us would appreciate, but as far as card collecting goes, I wish you all could have that cool feeling of pulling a 1/1 cut auto. I have, and hopefully one of you are next, whether it be now, or 10 years from now.

i agree with kevins comment about baseball icons. i'm resisting the urge to just buy them off ebay since most are going for less than $2. but i'm starting to think i should just sell my minis and relics on ebay and then just use that money to buy the baseball icons. adds another layer to the mix but its essentially the same thing. oh well.

What I've found, and I know this isn't true of everyone, is that the blasters, packs, boxes I've been buying have mostly yielded ancient icons and not baseball icons. I've pulled one baseball icon myself and have traded/spent for the rest. They definitely didn't mix them evenly.

Thanks again, mealeworm, for trading with me. It feels pretty cool to own something a genuine American hero held in her hands and scribbled on. I know some people can take or leave the Olympics, but the 1996 games happened in what I'd call my "sweet spot." I was 21, loaded down with school and work, and in-between girlfriends. The entire US women's gymnastics team captured my attention, but Strug's gumption to vault on her busted up ankle added an extra dimension... tough women are HOT! I still have a crush on her to this day.

Anyway... it's great how people on this board look out for each other. mealeworm could've easily put it up on eBay or used it in a quick trade on here. Instead, he held onto it and worked to trade it to me since he knew how much I wanted one.

Too cool. And why trading here beats the alternative six ways from Sunday.
