I've been looking and I missed a silk that went for a little over $30. Someone please tell me why the silks are so underappreciated. I have a Hanley Ramirez silk on the Bay and the best offer I've had is $36. That seems too low to me.

The Frank Thomas silks have sold for $103, $97, and $83 respectively. Slightly higher than average, but much lower than most inserts numbered to 10 from sets as popular as A&G.

I've busted 6 hobby (half my case) and 4 blasters from Wal-Mart (Edmond, OK).

No big hits, but I am beating the odds as far as pulls go except for ink (0 hits so far) also no Bazooka.

I have 1 NNO Andrew Miller and pulled a Ryan Church silk. I also pulled a Rip card, Chris Carpenter /99.

Lots of relics including 2 A and 8 B level.

All in all, beating the odds, but my "hits" are on the lower level of "hits".

I'll probably bust the 2nd half of my case tonight and get the lists sorted on on here tomorrow for trades.

Sadly, auction format is your best bet to sell these things...and starting an auction at more than $20 has been counterproductive. Having the first one always helps when dealing with the player collectors, but they're not selling so hot.

I'd rather just keep it if it won't top $50. I've been looking at completed auctions for the silks and they are all over the place.

As juvenile as it is, those players on the Beckett "stars" and "unlisted stars" lists appear to be the only ones selling with notable interest.

That's kind of where I'm at with the Hanley Ramirez silk. Two offers of $25 and $36 just doesn't make it worth selling it.

go gstarling! get some wood! gotta rip that carpenter rip card.

I ripped all 4 of my rip cards (from 2 cases). None of the rip cards themselves were really great, so I went for it. Got 2 ryan howard ext minis (sold for $27, $50), gehrig ext mini (sold for $60), and one longoria (still unsold). So all in all they were worth it - sure i probably could have gotten 50-75 per rip card unripped, but then i'd never know if i could have had wood! So to me, it was worth the chance....given that the longoria has been going for ~65 on the bay.

If anyone has a pujols bat relic, I'd like to trade for one. Lists will be updated tonight.

I sold a Dan Jansen (speedskater) Silk last weekend for right around $19. I started it at $5.99 or 9.99.

Actually he's not really a speedskater like the short track ones. I don't know what the H I mean.

Picked up the two blasters that were left at my local Walmart. Got a Cy Young Baseball Icons mini, a Bull Shark mini, and some SPs to build toward my set, but nothing else of note.

That Cy Young is my first Baseball Icon... I'm almost done with the Ancient Icons set!

Well I bought 13 more blister packs this afternoon and the highlight was one black border mini. So I was feeling kind of bummed and figured I'd get my trade list updated and trades packed up tonight, but then my wife called and told me there was a card show at the mall. That's all I needed to hear, I'm home with 6 more hobby boxes, and they're from the same guy I got a hot heritage box from earlier this year so I'm hoping for something good. Box by box rip to follow shortly.

Kevin, if I make it through all 6 of these boxes without a bazooka I will beat your streak by 83 retail packs.

Picked up a pair of blaster boxes figuring that if I didn't get them I wouldn't be opening any this year. I'll be the first to admit that my knowledge on these is limited. Either way, I've got a Joe Mauer jersey card from the first blaster and just hit 2 black bordered minis (Smoltz and Wild Bill) and an Aaron Pryor swatch. If some of you want to tell me the key cards of interest (sp cards, etc.) I'll be happy to post some of them to help you all finish sets.

I know last year we had some kind of formula to make trading simple. Has anyone come up with one this year, yet?

Any way to tell what relics are Group A, B, and C. It's easy if the player isn't doubled, but I can't figure out when there is a player in both group B and C which relic is which.
