I was able to get out to a few places today. he first place was Lanier Field, a football field that has been in use since the 40's...Also was able to go to a local park, Windsor Park, that has been in use since Victorian times...and Lastly, Halifax Square....a park that was included in the original plans for our city in 1771...Halifax has been literally POUNDED over the years...LM, myself and others have made this a mainstay....It is still giving up goodies, but now they are deep....All of the silver and the V nickel came from Halifax Square, along with the gold whatchmacallit...
The highlights were...3 wheat cents, 2 Mercury Dimes and 1 Barber dime, in horrible shape. The V nickel and lastly the token. Here's the pics!
My heart skipped a beat on this...the glint of gold in a hole ALWAYS excites me! But...too bad..it's just some kind of fastener.
A neat little pin it says:
"If it weren't for the boys, I'd quit school"..lol

A pretty sad looking 1907 Barber Dime:
A token:
A 1910 "V" Nickel....always love to find these!
Thanks for looking!

But oh, well. I should be grateful I have Internet access at all, and a nice fast connection here.
I will be sure to look at those when I get home.
Great finds. It seems that there is just no tellin' when something is really "searched out".
