Here's an interesting scenario for you...

Let's say, for example, that I sell a coin to an individual. That individual places it up for auction with no reserve and it looks like it will ultimately sell for less than I sold it for. Is there any problem with purchasing it back?

Nope. I think if it is placed for sale, it is fair game.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

No problem at all.... free market.... Cheers, RickO

No, because your bid ensures the seller at least a little more than he would have received had the previous high bidder had won the auction. Assuming no reserve as you had stated.

    Ben,

Send me a link and I will let you know a better answer image (preferably before the auction ends image )

No problem, in fact you should turn around and sell it to them again for another profit image

Let's take it one step further:

How 'bout if the buyer listed it as a short (say 1-day) auction on ebay before you sent it to him and you bought it back for less than you sold it to him for, but you were still in possession of the coin. Could you just keep the coin and bill him the difference? (I think so.)

Anyway, the answer to your question is, no there is no problem, go for it, fair game as stated above.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

That was also purchased from p8nt! image

And for less than what I had paid for it!

Today was a bad day for ebay auctions... all but one auction went for less than it should have.
