I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
I think it suffers from the typical substandard strike... I think 45 is a tad optimistic and 40 is likely tops. still it is a nice coin for the date...

To me, a VF would show a little more flatness on the cheekbone and beard....I think a weak strike is responsible for the lack of ear and hair detail.

I really dont see much wear on the left wheat stalks, while the right side are weakly struck. Typical obverse strike. Ii see no problem with calling it 40.
