    And how many N-1?

<< <i>Ok, man why are turning this thread into a bashing of me. What the heck did I ever do to you? >>

How would your guests feel if someone came into your house and was bashing you?

Would hope they would stand up against someone who doesn't have a leg to stand on.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I guess that would depend on who submits them as well
  • That statement is 100% true, actually saw the invoice and packing.

PSA can deny it all they want, but did anybody really think that this does not occur?

    There snakes too you know...

<< <i>never put a sticker on any of my card savers nor do i even fill out a submission form but i wait a MINIMUM of 40 business days EVERY TIME.

so "they" do not know who's cards their are grading. If I had tried to get my cards graded without a submission form wonder where my cards would have ended up? The "dealer" who is the source of this information probably should have just kept quiet also. >>

Its no secret.. You can call PSA and tell them you want to send in 1000 cards and sign a bulk waiver form and you can do the same thing. As long as you don't mind tying up >5k for 3 months.

If you guys think that not having to fill out the submission form line by line is "special treatment" then I guess you would be really appalled by what goes on with city budgets and how government spends your tax dollars. What I get from PSA wouldn't even be a considered a blip on the favormeter.

If you would like to get a taste of how things really work..
    1) Try opening up a construction company and getting a contract to build a highway for the city...
    2) Try opening up a medical supply company and get a large hospital to work with you...
    3) Try buying a piece of property where the zoning is iffy and getting it changed so that you can build(40+units) on it..

I am a nobody to PSA, there are guys who send in tens of thousands of cards. If you think their cards are sitting on the shelf next to yours and are being graded blind by the same guy who grades your cards then I am sorry but you really don't have a clue.

I don't blame them one bit, this is the way it has always been and the way it will always be. (In Every Business) >>

Maybe thats why the businesss environment is failing.

Some folks have the misconception that PSA (and all other grading companies in all hobbies) are there for the good of its respective hobby. PSA's only mission is to make a profit - just like every other business. Every decision they make is designed to add to their bottom line.

    Period.

If PSA did not do that, someone else would and drive PSA out of business.

Yes, it is a very simple point that is missed by too many. PSA and the other grading services are not there for the good of the hobby, they are there to provide a service that the hobby has embraced and pays a premium to utilize because it potentially affords the user to realize an increased profit margin.

The hope is that each of the grading services maintains a level of integrity and NOT grade material that demonstrates evidence of alteration. I would hope that the grading services would use a little more discretion to this regard, but that would impact the bottom line.

I think alot of people see PSA as our hobby police, stopping crooks and preventing you from getting cheated. However as they say "Who watches the watchmen?" Viewing them as a buisness is impersonal to most hobbiests so I can see why it's hard to wrap your head around especially since they advertise how much protection they offer.

Agreed. It sounds odd to say this, but people should not feel like they have an emotional connection with a third party authenticator.

    All talking to the choir!

Most of my cards were bought for $3 from many "Major" PSA dealers with no way of seeing that one PSA 9 or another PSA 9 from these dealers differed. Most of my subs have can back PSA 8/9. I think that with the 1000's subs and if they use the min. grade that why the have only higher graded cards of the sets.

Speak for yourselves. I like PSA because they gave me milk and cookies and tucked me in at night. They practically raised me and you want me to believe they don't care about me?

I just noticed on the PSA grading video on their main page that the submission that they receive in the video has no stickers on the card savers either.

The 'sticker' is just in case the stack of cards get out of order. They are simply used to match up
with the line on the submission. You do it, ok, you don't, well that seems to be ok too.

Me? I generally do it. It takes all of 3 seconds per card.

    Good for you.
