I know that the first coin has a few problems, but that aside, what grade would you assign the pieces based on their wear?

    First coin is a liner Fair-2 or AG-3, but probably wouldn't grade due to that rim hit. The second coin looks like a PO-01. Here's a picture of a PCGS FA-02 for reference:
