You might try contacting one of the dealers who list them regularly on ebay and ask them for a source on the mintages.
I knew it would happen.

The crazy thing is why are these buillon coins not recognized for numismatics... The mintage numbers are absurdly low... some of these buillon coins are minted to the tune of less than 5,000.
I believe this is an un-recognized niche... The coins are attractive, collectible, and soon to be the foundation of my collection.

Farewell Britannia - George Brown Rules Britannia Uncool
Britannia waves goodbye!
One of George Brown's last acts as Chancellor of the Exchequer and boss of the Royal Mint, was to decree that Britannia had to go. In August 2005, the Royal Mint promoted a design competition for new UK coinage designs. In December 2007, it was announced that all the normal circulation coin designs were to be replaced by new ones. This appear to apply to all seven common denominations, from the pound coin down to the penny, including the fifty pence. Of all seven existing reverse design themes or motifs, we believe that Britannia on the fifty pence, is the most iconic, and the most instantly identifiable with Britain. It is possibly a mistake to replace her, although up to this stage nobody knows whether she will be reprieved. We suspect not. Our guess is also that the Mint will keep the new coin designs as a closely guarded secret until the last possible moment. Writing this in the week before the 2008 World Money Fair in Berlin, it is possible that the Mint intends to unveil new collector coin sets based on the new designs, but if so, these will be under the usual embargo until the official announcement date. It is also possible that outline details of new coin sets will be available, but the designs still kept secret, who knows?
Thoughts?

Well, for starters that article seems to be talking about the 50 pence piece, not the silver or gold britannia bullion pieces.
So, now I am hugging myself as I just picked up a 2002 1/4 oz Proof for 20$ above spot- I hate paying above spot but seeing that there were only about 1750 minted makes me real real happy. Will not pay off today but in 50 years... I will be happy.

50 years from now, I can only hope that the country is still here and I'm not living in a bunker.
Pendragon turned me onto my first Britannia-
Now have 12 oz and 7 various gold Britannias
Just beginning...

still in the plastic capsule and would most certainly grade MS69. I knew it was a good deal. Wish he had more.

I know that, I just was wondering what people thought about the changes. I saw some news articles where comments were made and a lot of Brits were not to happy about this. Sorry if I didn't specify as the article speaks for itself.
