The color is actually spot on, yes it is "gold".

I think it's about as FS as I've seen

The only area of concern that I see would be possible merging of the third and fourth step.

I don't have a clue as how to judge full steps, I was kinda worried about the bottom step.

BTW, the holder does not say FS.

    Is the coin a 1940 or 41-D?

That may be what stopped it from FS Ray. The last step doesn't go all the way across.

    I don't think steps 3 or 4 are a concern at all.

The coin is in fact a 41D (Great "guess" coinkat, you must really know your stuff!) and in and "old" NCG 67 holder, should I resubmit?

    Thanks again,
    Ray

PS Did I mention that the coin is "gold" in color? It really has great toning!

I'll say Full Step, one of the areas I look at on FS nickels is the steps on each side of the building, if you can get one with full center steps and full steps on both sides you have a true winner.

It's rare you will find a non proof with all three sets of steps in Full Step Condition.

The bottom two steps on the left (as you look at it) will prevent it from FS designation. Cheers, RickO

This may be what I used to call a 21 stepper; even the steps on the sides of the building are visible.
