Hobo Dollar?

I've seen better carvings but I dont run into peace dollars carved that often.

I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Post mint damage. Body bag due to mutilation.

Doesn't look vintage to me, but I may be wrong.

Not a vintage carving... poorly done... ask Bill Fivaz for his opinion.... Personally, I would not waste my money on that coin. Cheers, RickO

Attached is a scan from the current issue of Bo Tales, where Bill Fivaz wrote about the beautiful hobo-style carved Franklin Half Dollar that Gail Baker and Ken Hallenbeck commissioned Steve Cox to make for Bill to aid him in his recovery from heart surgery.
There's a dapper bearded gent in a derby on the obverse and the reverse has a heart with a band-aid across it with the text; "From Your Friends ANA"

Steve Cox does excellent work. i recently commissioned a Laurel and Hardy Hobo Dollar from him and it's a hit with everyone that see's it.

That pic is scanned from a magazine, so the contrast is really off. It's probably just as nice as the one INXS writes about above.

Carved or not, I'd pass on that Frankenstein!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
