    62 PL

I just don't like the chatter on the cheek and neck.

I would say a 64PL as it is nice but as some marks on the cheek. As for DMPL, it is pretty deep, but not deep enough....image

I went with 64 PL. There are some marks on the neck and a lot of little chatter but this is IMO offset by a very good strike. It is interesting that just a different photo angle really covers up some of the marks, especially on the lower front neck. From the photos it looks like there are some mirrored fields. All in all a really nice 21!

So far with 19 votes cast, we seem to have a very symmetrical spread of grading opinions for this coin.

i simply guess 64 with no PL.
i mean the coin is obviously close to PL but i am going to say without.

good looking coin no matter the grade.
    thanks for the give away!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say MS65PL. You don't see mirrored fields on 21 morgans too often and I'm gonna guess they bumped it up a point.

64-pl. The two different photos make it hard to judge the surfaces.

Great obverse strike but the reverse is a little weak (with too many contact marks to go 65 anyway); thus, I would say MS64. Additionally, the fields are nice, but not reflective enough to go PL IMO (but it could be the pics).

I went with 63pl, probably too much chatter for a much higher grade, but the strike is nice, so I wouldn't be surprised by a 64pl.

    real grade = ms-61
    slabed grade = ms-63

typical unattractive example of the date, semi-pl surfaces

One more bump to allow folks to vote and post their thoughts before I post the grade tonight, after this thread sinks down into Page 3 PCGS US Coin Forum oblivion... image

Stuart would absolutely buy a 63 if he thought it had the eye appeal of a 64 or 65 with semi pl surfaces.

The coin does have a strong stike but lots of small hits that look like they may sub due the overall mirrors.

This 1921 Morgan Dollar is graded NGC MS-63 (no PL designation) although the coin in hand appears to have the eye appeal of an MS-64 PL. It must have just barely missed receiving the Prooflike designation from NGC.

She's got a super strong strike and a moderate cameo, both of which are not typical for a 1921 Morgan Dollar.

dang. and here i thought they would give it a bump due to being
almost proof like. i should have been more conservative!

alas, 64 was close. nice coin!
